Dr. Yee's
retirement
letter
30 July 2025

Dear Patient,

The time has come for me to depart family practice and retire as your family physician. It
has been a privilege and an honour to help care for your health over the years - some for a
few and some for many. I am moving into life’s next chapter - advice I’ve given to many of
you. I will carry many stories and lessons you have shared with me - individuality,
patience, humanity, perseverance, resilience, and humour.

I have a large patient roster to transition. My clinic group is unable to absorb anyone as
they already have filled practices. This may be an opportunity to find a new doctor located
conveniently to your home or work. Ask family, friends, pharmacists, and anyone with a
connection or search Alberta Find a Doctor - https://albertafindadoctor.ca/find-a-
doc/map. I have a keen young doctor who will be joining the clinic in May 2026. Dr. Yan Yu
has capacity to take over your care then, and we are exploring locum doctor coverage in
the interim. Please keep in mind that new physicians will have their own policies,
messaging capacity and personality. Build a new relationship.

My last day will be Friday, October 31, 2025. I can transfer a summary of your files on
request to your new doctor (automatic with Dr. Yu). Urgent results and medication will be
accommodated as best as we can - please proactively keep track of your health needs.
Urgent care may also be provided via 811 HealthLink, the Calgary Foothills Primary
Care’s Access 365 Clinic, various walk-in and urgent care facilities.

I wish you good health and happiness in your journey, and hope that we may cross paths in
the future to share some smiles and memories.

All the best,

Norm
