Focus Health Clinic offers a range of focused services to enhance patient care. Some services are covered by Alberta Health:

Women’s health including IUD insertions, endometrial biopsies, contraceptive counselling

Preventative health care

Minor procedures including skin biopsies, nail resections, cyst excision

Access to access to CFPCN services including Access 365 Clinic, pharmacist, psychologist, dietitian, chronic pain, health nurse, etc.
Some services are not covered by Alberta Health (e.g. prescription renewals, notes, forms), and have a fee for our work. See prescription renewals and uninsured services.

Note re: Dr Yan Yu's Annual Medicals
Based on latest medical science, we no longer do annual "physical exams" that are not indicated. There is mounting evidence that annual "physical examinations" of asymptomatic body parts do not have much value - https://www.ualberta.ca/en/folio/2017/11/why-doctors-are-suggesting-doing-away-with-annual-physical-check-ups.html.
Instead, the annual checkup has become a review of bloodwork, screening, and current health issues. We will still physically examine body parts that have symptoms.
In addition, the latest 2020 Canadian blood pressure guidelines demonstrate that home BP measurements are much more accurate than in-office/in-clinic BP measurements: https://hypertension.ca/guidelines/diagnosis-assessment/measuring-blood-pressure/
Based on this, you will note that we will no longer take your blood pressure on an annual medical and instead ask you to measure your blood pressure at home for review during the annual medical. Thank you for understanding!
